Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is Waymark?Waymark is a family connection app designed to guide your family through meaningful "Campfire Conversations"—without you needing to prep a Bible study or print out worksheets. Through interactive games, quick Bible verses, and audio memory recording, Waymark helps you navigate the highs and lows of family travel, vacations, and everyday life.
Do my kids need their own phones to use the app?Nope! In fact, we designed it specifically so they don’t. Waymark is a "pass-the-phone" experience. You only need one device for the whole family. The app prompts you to pass the phone around to play games, read verses, and record audio, keeping screen time low and face-to-face connection high.
How Long Do the Conversations Take? My kids have short attention spans! We totally get it. Our Vacation Mode modules are designed for exhausted families standing in theme park lines or waiting for food, so they are punchy and take under 5 minutes. Our Mission Trip modules go a bit deeper and usually take 15-20 minutes around an actual campfire or in the hotel room.
The app records our voices. Where do those audio files go?Your family's privacy is our top priority. Your audio recordings, photos, and time capsules are saved securely to your family's private, encrypted "Legacy Book" timeline inside the app. No one else has access to your memories unless you specifically choose to share them.
I’m a Youth Pastor/Family Ministry Director. Can I buy this for my church?Yes! Waymark is the ultimate tool to solve the "re-entry" problem after a youth group trip or family camp. We offer bulk licensing and church-wide access codes so you can send your families home with a tool that actually helps them disciple their kids. Contact us at [Your Email] for group rates.
Does the app work offline? Theme park Wi-Fi and mission trip cell service can be terrible.Yes! You can pre-download your modules (like the 15-day Vacation Pack or the 6-day Mission Trip Pack) to your phone over Wi-Fi before you head out. The app will save your audio recordings and data locally, and sync them to your cloud timeline once you are back in service.
What age is Waymark best forWaymark is incredibly flexible, but the interactive "pass-the-phone" games, digital spinners, and audio prompts really shine with kids ages 7 to 18. Older teenagers love the deeper "Time Capsule" and "Family Compass" features, while younger kids love the tactile games like digital rock-tossing and sticker boards.
We aren't going on a mission trip. Is this app still for us?Absolutely. While we have a dedicated module for processing heavy mission trip experiences, our Vacation Mode is built for everyday families visiting theme parks, going on road trips, or just trying to survive a long wait at a restaurant. If you have kids and want to connect with them better, Waymark is for you.
